I have been trying to find a rug for my chunky Brumby / Quarter Horse Mare for sometime, and have had issues with rugs rubbing at her chest and slipping in the past due to her in between size. She also suffers from QLD Itch in the summer so has to be rugged all year round. This rug is so good! It hasn't slipped at all and she really loves wearing it. So far she has stayed lovely and cool and insect bite free! Thank you Leader Equine :)
Great rug! Fits well and stays in place, I was worried about the chest closure not being adjustable but it is very roomy even on my broad-chested mare. The Boxter Turnout sits nicely on top too. Will be buying both for my other horse!
Fantastic fit for chunky Q/H 🙌 this is my second LE rug - the quality and fact you can remove the neck piece is great for QLD if it’s hot and you just want a standard
The perfect rug for horses who run hot or get hot quickly, I also pair mine with the fantastic le boxter no fill Liner for the cooler days or drizzly weather. My boy is so much happier in this rug, I am thrilled with the quality of it as well.
Put up wrong pic on the other review. This is the 5'3 (paint yearling 12hh) and the other rug I bought was a 6'3 (paint gelding 15.3hh) Rug runs true to size and great airflow. Will buy again

Like the polos look great nicely made quite flash The brush is excellent soft on the main and tail does not rip through it and worth using on you're self THE fly mask is a no for me as i notice the horses head moving L/R as he is trying to see and was a little un settled on approach . I put the mask on my self to look through and found to much reflection on inside of the mask with interference with his vision on sunny day ,try it out for you're self as this my opinion / luv the bee keeper design but not the mesh Rug is nice little tight as i bought 5,9 Le boxter fitted nice but on this new one was different maybe cause of moisture around and the fabric does cling to the coat will try putting in a bit of satin in places to see if it helps do luv it careful on your sizing . Note my opinion only
lightweight, breathable, UV protection which is a necessity for a grey and most importantly fits perfectly and doesn’t move a centimetre no matter the acrobatics or paddock antics. Which is a feat in itself as up until trying these rugs everything rubbed or slipped on this guy 💙

I have only just put the leader equine rug on my Australian Stock horse mare as it’s been too hot and humid. Very nice fit. She wears Amigo rugs for winter and I was interested in how the Leader equine rug would compare. She is 14.2 hands and is in a 5 ft 9 inch which gives her plenty of room considering she is chunky. Definitely looking at buying more Leader Equine rugs.

They are, quite possibly, the best summer rugs I’ve ever bought. Lightweight / beautiful fit / exceptionally well made / great belly straps and the best feature is the chest buckle. My girls are very comfortable and happy in their new summer wear - thank you. 🙃

Not only is this rug ideal for the WA summer heat, it is the best fitting sheet I've found for my chunky connemara pony. It allows great freedom through the shoulder, doesn't move an inch and is lovely and breathable even on warm days!
Love this summer sheet for my Friesian warmblood. Keeps him cool on hot days, has UV protection, and protects him from mosquitoes. Fantastic service too!
Great fit and seems resilient
Great fitting rug have a 6’6 on our 16.3 mare. The top reflects the sun well mesh allows airflow and stops in insects will be buying another one
Really like this rug, I have the 6’9 on my horse who wears a 7’0 in the rhino 0g paddock rug. The cotton is nice and soft yet durable and the mesh is fine but doesn’t cling like other mesh rugs. Importantly it doesn’t give my horse electric shocks as I’ve found others to do. My only issue is I with the neck was deeper as it’s a tad small on my chunky wb mare (16.1hh), apparently the neck size gets bigger with the 7’0 rug but then the body will be too big.
Really like the superior fit of these rugs. The mesh is super light and breathable. Very happy with this rug

This is a really nice design but the fabric part ripped after one roll! The all mesh version is much tougher and standing up well to a known rug destroyer. If the fabric was a bit tougher I’d definitely look at this design again.
Fits really well. No leg straps which my mare is a big fan of! Doesn’t slip at all. Little bit fiddly with the front to undo though. My mare is nice and cool over her back when I take this rug off. More so than any other rug I’ve had. Would buy again.

These rugs fit my very broad quarter horses amazingly well. They don’t slip or pull back on their chest. The mesh material is sturdy and hard wearing. My horses are often rubbing on trees and cheaper rugs catch and tear. I highly recommend these and other LE rugs. I wouldn’t buy any other brand now.
A superb fitting rug and cool even on the hottest of days. And I’d have to admit the white doesn’t get as dirty as I thought as it tends to not hold the dirt in the material…..will try to avoid n d thou LOL

Best rug I have ever purchased fits beautifully and cool for the summer climate.
Really like the mesh and cotton, the fit is good. But it’s massively over-engineered. The front closure system is fiddly and takes ages - is failure of the front buckle really that big a problem? Not sure the cotton top will stand up to much but the mesh is fantastic. Looks great but expensive for what it is.

Sits really well, lovely material. Was advised to go a size bigger than usual which was great advice and it fits well. Didn't come with a strap for the back (no leg straps), which would have been nice as it's very windy where I am so needed.

I love this rug. To be honest I was hesitant to spend the extra money. But I needed to find a SunSmart comfortable rug for my pink skinned, fine coat boy. Every other rug gets uncomfortable/itchy or too warm on him. This rug feels like the most expensive bed sheets you can find and they don’t move. I will definitely be buying more. Thank you so much.
