I have been using these at the tie ups during our cold NZ winter and when ponying a horse off another on a hack or doing fitness. They keep the horses warm without overheating, and allow air flow when a horse is cooling off after work. I like the cut and that there’s no seam along the back - one less failure point. The straps are of good quality and allow for a good range of fits. There’s plenty of freedom of movement when out ponying with no slipping or rubbing. The fabric is sturdy and of great quality but not overly heavy like a remember old wool rugs being! Once off the horse they dry quickly and don’t smell after lots of use. I haven’t washed yet but being wool I will absolutely follow the wash recommendations!! I’m so thrilled to have finally found an actual wool blanket - thanks LE!! Good on you for supporting farmers and for seeing a gap in the market for quality wool rugs.
