I bought this for the concept of being able to put it on under his paddock rug after I had worked him at night in winter (without having to wait for him to dry like his sweat rug). With no leg straps or even a tail rope the rug requires significant customization to be fit for this purpose. I would like to see it have leg straps and ideally a stronger chest strap for it to fit the advertised purpose. It looks lovely and well made but is missing features that mean I can’t use it for its advertised (and therefore purchased) purpose which is disappointing.

This Horseware Dry Liner (50g Light) is every horse owner's dream rug! Drying sweaty horses quickly and efficiently saving you time and effort. Designed to eliminate the need to use a separate moisture-wicking rug after exercise, you attach this liner to your liner-compatible Horseware turnout or stable rug and it does the job of drying your horse while they enjoy their field time. No more waiting around for your horse to completely dry before dressing them for the field, giving them total comfort, and giving you peace of mind.
The breathable liner consists of a sophisticated triple-layered fabric construction which creates the perfect conditions for excellent moisture evaporation to help to dry your horse even when fully blanketed without creating a damp environment inside your turnout rug.
Features
Layer 1: A moisture-wicking ultra-soft polar fleece supports your horses natural ability to wick moisture away from the skin while providing ultimate comfort.
Layer 2: 50g high loft fibrefill is layered in the middle to help drive moisture created by your horse's body heat further away from your horse, assisting in moisture evaporation and keeping your horse warm.
Layer 3: The top layer consists of a 3D airmesh for improved air circulation, giving increased airspace within its fabric construction, sustaining warmth and further aiding moisture evaporation, preventing your outer rug from becoming damp or your horse from feeling a chill.

Really lovely liner, sadly not at all suited to my narrow chested horse (despite my usual horsware liners being perfect?). I've used many other horseware liners (200g etc) and I've never had one move before (under vfront Rambo, Rhino and recently an unlined horseware plant dye turnout rug). This liner appears to me to have a different chest shape to the usual horseware liners I've purchased in the past (when I measured both together this came up bigger in the chest). The liner (fitted as I always do) pulled back and stretched quite a bit overnight causing it to sit down way too low on the chest, also stretching right back past the wither and also hanging out at the rear making it uncomfortable for my horse. I gave it another go in a different horseware rug just in case, but it did exactly the same thing. This liner is unfortunately unusable unless I can perhaps get some darts sewn in the neck or alternatively it will become an expensive quarter warming sheet at events while standing around. The liner itself is really lovely just wished the shape was the same as the other liners I have.

I love the dry liner. It has taken the anxiety away from me as it absorbs and warms my mare while under her other rugs after I have washed her in the afternoons in winter. I am seriously wondering how I survived sweaty horses in winter without this liner! The concept of this rug is just perfect, with the 3d mesh type construction rug allowing maximum breathability and keeping moisture off the skin, and the beautiful fleece like panel over the back for warmth and comfort. I love that the sides are mesh only, meaning as the horses dry they won’t overheat from a full under rug. I even clip it to my cotton back straps when not using a turnout rug and it does not move back in the paddock. I’ll definitely be buying a second one. Highly recommend 👌🏼

Popped this on after a late afternoon ride where a good hose down was needed. Left it on with a cotton and an unlined canvas rug on top and put into the paddock. The next day the rug was taken off and it was dry. Definitely a good fit for my boy.

The dry liners have worked on my 3 horses beautifully, really wicking the moisture away from their bodies. I can also leave them in when it is just a little too hot for a padded rug, but too cold for just the mainsheet.. it stops them sweating really well. Only problem I have is with one of them who manages to twist the liner under the top rug... no idea how but he's likely to rip it soon as it ends up really tight across his chest. It's the same size as the outer, so not sure it's a size problem and the other 2 don't do it, so I think it's just him! Hence no bad review :)

The Horseware Ireland dry liner has been a godsend in our very changeable weather. It has been very effective at wicking away moisture from my horses wet coat after he has been hosed. Being able to leave it on under his paddock rug is great. He can get a little warm in our fickle climate but overall it is doing the job for which is was intended.
