Hemorex Powder

Hemorex Powder is a unique dietary formulation of Bioflavinoids, Vitamin K and Vitamin C which is intended for use in racehorses.

EIPH is a real concern for racehorses, a significant proportion will bleed from the lungs at some stage during their career. 

Hemorex Powder acts in a number of ways to improve the strength, elasticity and muscular tone of the lung arteries, clotting ability of the blood to mend minor vessel ruptures or leakage, and helps in reducing chronic airway inflammation.

It is a unique combination of Vitamin K, which is needed in the liver to activate the proteins that are involved in blood coagulation, Vitamin C which protects against oxidation induced damage, and Bioflavinoids which improve the elasticity of the capillaries. It should be fed daily, preferably from the time horses commence training. 

Bioflavinoids can aid horses lungs by three modes of action: 

?       Lowering blood viscosity thus reducing blood pressure

?       Reducing the damage to blood vessels at inflamed sites

?       Strengthening and restoring elasticity to the capillaries 

Vitamin K is essential for the formation of prothrombin, and the three other blood clotting proteins.

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant needed to protect the capillary membranes from oxidation induced damage. Horses over stressed by training and racing often cease to produce ascorbic acid (Vitamin C).

• For first 10 days of supplementation add 50g daily to a minimum of 1kg of the normal feed ration
• Thereafter add 25g daily to a minimum of ? kg of the normal feed ration
• A scoop is provided ? one heaped scoop = approx. 10g
• Does not contravene racing regulations
