Who owns Horseware® Ireland?

Horseware Ireland is an international company based in Ireland. Leader Equine are the official distributors of Horseware Ireland in Australia.

Are all Horseware® Ireland products available on Leader Equine?

A large curated selection from the Horseware® Ireland range is chosen in response to what we feel is working well in both Australia and New Zealand and based on our customer feedback.

A range of HW winter turnouts, stable rugs to Micklem bridles, halters, riderwear, therapy items, accessories and more are all available from Leader Equine.

Where are your Horseware® products shipped from?

All Horseware® Ireland products purchased from Leader Equine are shipped daily from Monday to Friday from our warehouse in Craigieburn, Victoria, Australia.

What size rug should I get my horse?

For Horseware® Ireland horse rugs, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Take a soft measuring tape
  2. Measure from the centre point of the chest (A), around the point of the shoulder, along the body, around the back leg to the centre of the tail (B)
  3. Take 10cm off the measurement you got.
  4. Check where this new number puts you under A to B on the table below
  5. If your horse is in between two sizes, we usually suggest going with the bigger size.

How do I know which size bridle to buy?

For HW® Micklem Bridles, we recommend the following steps:

Measure your horse using a soft tape and compare to the size chart on the Micklem Bridle product pages.

Are Horseware® Ireland rugs true to size?

Horseware® Rugs can tend to fit neater in size than we are used to here in Australia and NZ.

We would suggest you measure your horse prior to ordering to achieve the most accurate result. If your horse is between sizes we usually would recommend taking the larger size.

Do your rugs have leg straps?

No, Horseware® rugs do not have leg straps. The rugs come standard with either fillet straps or wipe clean tail cords depending on the product you choose.

The rugs feature Surefit surcingles which prevent any slipping or moving of the rug whilst on the horse and allow rugs to self correct and remain centrally on the horse.
